Message From Leadership

Welcome to the Virginia Tech Carilion Plastic Surgery training program. We have designed a program that will provide the resident with clinical rotations covering the full scope of plastic surgery as well as extensive research opportunities in both clinical and basic science areas. Our residents will also be educated in the moral and ethical obligations to their patients, colleagues and the larger society we all serve. The goal of the residency program is to produce outstanding plastic surgeons who can practice independently as experts in either a private practice or academic setting.

Residents accepted into this program will benefit immensely from the unique training environment we have created.

Virginia Tech Partnership

Residents and fellows work closely with the students, medical educators, and research scientists from the Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine and Fralin Biomedical Research Institute at VTC. This partnership leverages Virginia Tech’s world-class strength in basic sciences, bioinformatics and engineering with Carilion Clinic’s highly experienced medical staff and rich history in graduate medical education.
